Kandinsky is a superb vector art package which creates GEM Metafiles using GDOS (NVDI/SpeedoGDOS prefered). Kandinsky is a vector art package which creates GEM Metafiles. Unlike bitmap formats Metafiles can be infinitely re-scaled without losing detail. Two versions are available:
Both versions include ST-Guide format hypertext on-line help, Clipboard, AV protocol and Drag&Drop support. Kandinsky 2 adds iconify, Freedom, OLGA, XAcc and font selector support.
Kandinsky v1.73
Provides a useful combination of tools and features at an entry level price. If you find you need features in the Kandinsky 2 demo you can upgrade to the latest version at any time.
Kandinsky 2.5
Offers a new 3D look interface (on Falcons and other suitably equipped machines) along with enhanced colour support, enhanced import/export formats (including PS, TeX and Calamus CVG), multi copy function, zoom popout, distort function and enhanced printer dialog. Used with NVDI/SpeedoGDOS and a suitable printer driver superb colour output is possible.Kandinsky 2.5 builds on the success or earlier releases with dozens of new features to explore, be sure to take a look at the new Distort and Multi-copy functions which semi-automate the creation of complex designs.
Other new options, such as Outline mode, Interruptible redraw, and Calamus CVG support make for much faster editing and convienence.
Kandinsky requires GDOS to save and print drawings. Any GDOS will get you up and running but to output in colour using vector fonts you'll need a copy of SpeedoGDOS (>=v5) or ideally NVDI (>=v3) which support vector fonts and have drivers available for colour printers which work!
Kandinsy supports external font selectors, Freedom, iconification, Drag&Drop and the AV protocol, context sensitive hypertext help in ST-Guide format.
Registration benefits include:
- Key to unlock PS export, CVG import, rotate and opening registration dialog
- 68030+FPU (68881/68882) version available to registered users on request
