Everest
Everest is a fast, easy to use, ultra compatible shareware text editor programmed by Oliver Schmidt. This simple combination has established Everest as the most popular shareware text editor on the Atari platform.
Everest is much faster than dedicated word processors because it doesn't concern itself with multiple typefaces or page layout capability and is ideally suited for editing program configuration files, writing emails or creating text for output via another application.
Simple printed output via GDOS is supported with options to set page breaks, form feeds and the left hand margin offset.
The recent addition of long filename and OLGA protocol support make Everest the web authoring editor of choice for many Atarians. Used together with a suitable abbreviation (Kürzel) file, the CAB browser HTML pages can be interactively edited and previewed which make Everest an ideal web authoring tool.
