égale
égale, French for equal, is a file/directory compare, edit and patch utility for binary and text files of any type. In spite of the French name égale is programmed and developed by David Reitter in Germany. égale can be used to:
égale features offers all this and more from the comfort of a stylish extended GEM interface with ST-Guide context sensitive help.
- Compare two partitions for differences - often called tree checking. égale can either simply check filenames and lengths or compare each file individually to make sure they're identical.
- Convert an HTML document into ASCII. égale includes a multi-line search/replace option which can be used to create custom file conversion utilities.
- Indentify the latest version of a program or text you've working on!
- Indentify differences between any two files. If the latest killer application you're working one has sprouted some extra bytes and you're not sure why use égale to compare versions.
- Generate a patch program to efficiently update your users without releasing the entire distribution again.
Registration benefits include:
- Key to remove registered user only features
- Registration letter and master disk containing the latest version
- A nice warm feeling knowing you've supported ongoing égale development!
