Dan Ackerman's CAB.OVL
CAB.OVL is the file which enables CAB to browse online via STiK. As CAB developed other CAB.OVL files appeared which enable CAB to browse online with other TCP/IP stacks, including Mintnet, PPPConnect and so on - they all have the same filename.
This CAB.OVL is the original file developed by Dan Ackerman which can be used with STiK or STinG. There are separate 68000 and 68030 versions and the latest news and downloads are available from Dan's web pages at Anthill Industries.
System requirements
The CAB.OVL file should be copied to CAB's MODULE folder, remember there is one CAB.OVL per TCP/IP stack, so make a backup of any other copies of CAB.OVL in there (for example if you bought a copy of CAB which included PPP-Connect its CAB.OVL may already be in your CAB MODULES folder).Information about the CAB.OVL actually in use by CAB is included in the "About CAB" dialog box and can be displayed in CAB at any time via the psuedo about:plugins URL.
Dan's CAB.OVL runs on any TOS (Atari) compatible computer with 1Mb or more memory and it's MagiC compatible.
Dan's CAB.OVL includes a configuration file which can be edited to control its behaviour under some circumstances, for example, it can be edited so remote sites identify the browser as Netscape Navigator, which can be useful to access some websites.
Registration benefits include:
- Master disk containing latest versions of CAB.OVL
- A nice warm feeling knowing you've supported ongoing CAB.OVL development!
